Hello from itsanudae, your helpful site administrator!

Hi, I'm itsanudae (Leo), and I just wanted to say "HI" to all my fellow (X)Ubuntu tribemates... I live on the island of Xubuntu in the village of Gutsy in the ocean of amd64 SMP... hehehe!

Hey Leo! About the only difference I've really seen between Mint & *Ubuntu is what's available on a clean first install. Mint is Ubuntu-based, except it has restricted packages already installed (Flash, MP3 support, DVD codecs, etc). But yeah, my machine is a Athlon64 3500+ with 2GB RAM and a 7600GT. So it's very capable of running Gnome & KDE with all the glitsy stuff. I just like the balance between simpleness and eye candy that XFCE has. It isn't overboard on either side.
