This is a shameless plug for a good guy's great site. It really helped me out when I was trying to figure out some of the basics of Xubuntu, especially Xfce Specific Compiz Fusion configuration.

Visit ASAP for a dose of Xubuntu with Vincent's point of view, and an all around excellent Xubuntu information center.
