I too, love Xfce for it's togetherness and resource usage even though I have a beast of a machine capable of running GNOME or KDE with all the glitz. I just prefer the smooth experience of Xfce, and the compositing from xfwm4 is enough glam for me. I dont feel the need for spinning cubes and jiggling windows although I have tried Compiz-Fusion out before.

Hi Derek, thanks for dropping by and posting such a sweet desktop shot! How do would you compare Linux Mint to the likes of Xubuntu? I have some special needs like simplicity since I am "new" to Linux. I started with Ubuntu/GNOME, and moved to Xubuntu/Xfce... I need amd64 dualcore and support for 8GB RAM. How does Mint Stack up to Xubuntu? Is it more Xfce oriented?
